Here's a Jenny-style of Psalm 33
Give shouts of joy, sprinkle it like confetti, those who love God.
Thanksgiving and praise suit you when you put the kingdom of God first.
So give thanks with your guitar, paint brush, pen, tools.
Don't be shy in your thanks, lavishly pour it out on him.
For God's word is straight and sure.
And everything he does is done in faithfulness.
He is all about justice and seeking first the kingdom of God.
And the earth is just filled up full with God's unquenchable, unending, extravagant, concrete love.
God just spoke and the heavens appeared.
All he does is breathe and the angels are made.
He takes the oceans in his hands, the whole breadth of them are minuscule in comparison.
We should all stand in awe of Him.
For all he does is speak and it comes into existence;
he commands and everything stands up straight and obeys.
The most powerful and wealthy people in the world's plans don't stand a chance next to God's.
And often God "messes up" our human plans.
But what God plans is sure and good and it stands up forever against anything.
We should trust them.
God is aware of what's going on in our lives.
Even though, he is above all, set apart and holy, he still concerns himself with our lives.
He treasures us: the work of his hands.
We are not saved by our social status,
or by how much money we have,
or by how good we are.
We are not rescued by our own ideas or will power.
We are not delivered by anything man made.
God is the one who watches out for us.
He watches out for all who seek him first-- the ones who are sure his good promises are true.
He will deliver them and rescue them in their time of need.
So we wait on God with our hands stretched out.
Because he is the one who protects us and frees us.
He is the one who makes us whole.
And so we continually and perpetually trust in his ways and his name.
And may his crazy love, that cannot be squandered, that never runs out, that is extravagant, gentle and strong, be on us, around us and in us...
this is our way of saying we put all of our eggs in one basket...all of our hope is in you, the Lord God who made everything.
Amen.
