Okay, so this week I've been bitten by the reading bug. Another bonus post, because well, God just straight up went above and beyond in the moments of my day. I needed to write this as a thanksgiving.
Oh, and I sat here and prayed my heart out.
I forced every atom in my body to be still,
but they just kept on running away in the familiar way.
But you stilled me.
You took me aside and quieted my insides.
You spoke me alive today.
You rained down your grace and soaked me to the bones.
You trashed my umbrella, my carefully constructed systems.
You washed me, you cleansed me.
And we laughed, we laughed as it poured and joy was born.
And then I met one of your little ones.
I wiggled off his boots and his toes danced free.
This little stranger off to Africa in two days.
And he clung to my leg, me this mess of a woman he doesn't know from Eve.
He clung to my leg and I whispered every blessing I knew.
And marveled that he latched on to me,
one who knows how it wrecks your life into a marvelous, beautiful mess.
And I pray blessing of unconditional love all over him.
and the purses and the shoe laces and the list could just go on and on.
You really out did yourself with the moments of my day.
You just straight up spoke me alive! And I love you for it.
