Holy God,
We wake up and your rain just waters this earth like it hasn't seen rain in decades.
And the earth in its thirst just soaks it right up.
And my mind is already on this days agenda, already pushing through the most efficient plans.
Stop me!
Stop me. Make me aware of the moments.
Because I don't want today to be just another day to get through.
I don't want to be consumed to how nice it will be in 12 hours from now when I can just rest.
I want to become aware of the God-breathed, miracle filled day that it is.
I want to live and dwell in the radical beauty of every second of this day.
Help me to be alive to you,
alive to others,
and alive to the moments of this unique day.
Slow me down.
Make me linger a little longer.
Smile a little softer.
Transfer peace like a rare commodity.
We love you. This day be within and without us.
Amen.
